What’s the difference between bay windows and bow windows?
Bay windows and bow windows are both types of projecting windows that extend outward from the exterior wall of a house. Bay windows usually have three panels, one large picture window in the centre and two smaller windows on either side. The operable windows can be casement, double-hung, or awning windows. Bay windows have a more angular shape and are often used in transitional and contemporary home styles. Bow windows have four or more panels that are all the same size and curve outward in a semicircle. The panels are typically fixed, but some bow windows may have one or two operable panels.
