What are the benefits of double-glazed windows?
×
Increased insulation – Double-glazed windows reduce heat loss by preventing direct contact between the colder outside air and your home. This means that warmer air stays inside during the colder seasons and outside when it gets warmer.
- Savings on energy bills – Double-glazed windows maintain the temperature of your home better so you don’t need to spend as much heating or cooling it throughout the year.
- Noise reduction – Double-glazed windows help to filter out much more noise from the outside compared to single-pane windows, reducing noise pollution and helping increase relaxation over time.
How long do windows last?
×
Windows last for different lengths of time depending on the type of window, the supplier, and the fitter. Generally, single-glazed windows can last up to 20 years before their seals fail and they begin to open up to drafts and water leakage. Double-glazed windows can last up to 20 years longer than single-glazed windows before their seals become faulty.
What type of window is most secure?
×
Nobody wants to feel vulnerable, so when it comes to replacement windows you need to know that your new windows will provide security and safety for you and your loved ones. Do I need planning permission for replacement windows?
×
Replacing windows falls under the permitted development rules in areas that aren’t in designated areas or listed buildings, so luckily you won’t have to apply for planning permission. For extra peace of mind, we’d definitely recommend checking with your local council regarding the style, frame material, and opening method of your replacement windows to make sure they’re happy.
Why do my double glazed windows get condensation?
×
If you have condensation on your double-glazed windows, they may be faulty. Condensation on double-glazed windows happens when the sealant around the windows isn’t working and is letting air into the space between the window panes.
